‘Through the Cherry Gates’ is Sabriel’s debut album. Written, produced, and released independently. The record was inspired by Sabriel’s favorite artist’s and producers, such as Prince, Janet Jackson, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Egyptian Lover, Gap Band, Thom Yorke, Fiona Apple, and Cameo. The majority of the album was made on her ASR-88, bringing an undeniable analog dustiness to the project. 

The album was created during her Saturn Return and was released leading up to its ending. The themes of Sabriel’s first album reflect her experiences during this journey, including tried and failed relationships and run ins with temporary connections that provided nothing but blunt, beautiful, transformative lessons.
